This School offers the ultimate opportunity to aspiring teachers and educational professionals in Rwanda, the region and beyond. It distinguishes itself through cutting edge innovative research, teaching and learning, and community service. The primary authority and responsibility of the School is to prepare high quality teachers, school administrators and counsellors ranging from undergraduate to the graduate levels.
On top of our commitment to prepare teacher candidates and other school professionals who are reflective and capable of evaluating their choices, actions and decisions in the learning process, the School also triggers active learning that leads to critical thinking. Besides, we engage professional trainers who use their understanding of content and pedagogical knowledge to enable student learning. Our vision is to be a premier school nationally and internationally in preparing educators recognized for best practices in teaching and learning, research and scholarship.
Our mission is to provide leadership and training for teaching and learning by preparing students to understand, contribute to, and succeed in a rapidly changing world of education. We will endeavor to equip pre service teachers with both requisite knowledge and competencies essential for success in the emerging education landscape in Rwanda and beyond.
Further the school will engage in research and outreach activities and also utilize effective technologies in the development of transformational educators who will learn, lead and serve in the diverse and changing educational settings.
